Product Review- Silver Cross Pram

So I thought I would do a review on the pram we've been using. It's the Silver Cross Wayfarer, which was released in Australia in May 2013. It was one of the first items I researched when I found out I was pregnant, ( actually not soon after , I was probably about 3 months along). Buying the pram was probably one of the toughest purchases, there were just too many options out there, and whether to go car seat with bassinet or pram with bassinet, it was all too confusing.

We looked at a few options and even purchased another pram before we bought this. The Wayfarer ticked most of our boxes. It came with the baby carrycot for newborns (which was very spacious with soft padding), I actually used it till she was just shy of 4 months. It's ideal for newborns, keeps them nice and snug with the apron cover. The pram seat has the forward facing and rear facing seat option. I thought this was great, I have Rayah facing me at the moment, I like to see what she's doing, whether she is awake, asleep etc. In a few months, I'll swap her to be forward facing, I think she'll enjoy it when she can see what's going on in front of her.

The wheels are sturdy and the size of the pram isn't bulky, you can manoeuvre your way through small aisles, and it's quick flick to fold and unfold it.

The frame and material of the product is of good quality. I like the leather padding on the handles, and the fact that you can adjust the handle to 3 different heights. I have it on the lowest when in lifts etc so I don't take up much room, but when I'm pushing the pram in shopping centres I like having it closer to my chest ( that's quiet high isn't it ?).

You can choose the hood and seat cover colour. It comes in red, blue, sand, pink, purple, green and black.  We were tossing up between the black and red, but ended up going with red for a bit of colour.  We bought the seat liner as well, which I'm glad we did, it makes clean ups a lot easier.  And most importantly  I wanted a stroller with a cup holder, it's amazing how much this helps when wanting to sip a latte while shopping, Haha.

The only downside to the Wayfarer is not being able to place larger shopping bags through the gap when having the carrycot locked in. It's not a problem when having the pram seat in, there's plenty of room for larger bags. I wouldn't consider this a jogger pram, you can use it for walks, runs, but the wheels are not made for rough terrains.

The Silver Cross is a lot more affordable than some other prams out in the market, so I'm happy with this purchase. It's a great pram, and munchkin is a happy baby when she's in it, which is all that matters in the end.

Zara Baby Haul

Zara baby stock some adorable pieces. I just wish there was a store closer to where I live, or even better an online Zara ( for Australia that is). The closest store to me is in Highpoint Maribyrnong, which isn't too bad, only downside being that they don't stock all items, whereas Zara in the CBD ( Bourke Street Mall) has a wide selection for all sizes.

I picked up this cream knitted cardigan to match with a party dress that have for Rayah. I liked it because of the little silver detailing. You probably can't see it in this picture, but it just adds a bit of zing to the piece. It's in size 3-6 months. They had it in a light pink too, I was contemplating between the two, but went with the cream because it would match with more outfits.
I got this sweat pant set for the upcoming cooler months, I got it in the larger size 6-9 months. I like the hot pink and grey combination.
Once again thinking of the colder months, I bought these long-sleeved onesies, in size 6-9 months. I don't think my love for onesies will ever outgrow. Nappy changes are so much faster, and they keep the nappy in place (none of that messy nappy movement)
I couldn't let this blue floral print top pass, I have a thing for blue and navy clothes, also in size 6-9 months. I prefer to buy one size up these days because Rayah's got a lot of clothes in her current size, and she's growing out of her clothes too fast. I find myself moving clothes from her cupboard to the 'unwearable box' on a daily basis.
I picked up this summer hat, in a slightly bigger size.  I like the cotton eyelet material. It's a bit too big for her right now, but will fit her in a few months when we plan to go overseas. Goodness, it's crazy how much you plan ahead when you have a little one.

I COULD NOT put these two pairs down. They are a bit big for missy at the moment, but should fit her in a few months. Both shoes are a creamy/ beige and in european size 18, which they say fits from 6 months I believe. I can't wait till she wears them.

That's it for this haul.

Sunday Fundays - Alana's 1st Bday

We were at Alana Rose's Flamingo/ Hawaiian themed 1st birthday party on the weekend. It was a fun day for little munchkin, she was pretty content the while time, only made a bit of noise when she wanted her milk.
Alana was looking adorable, and once again I didn't get a chance to take photos, not even of the birthday girl =(

Below are our outfits of the day.
I wore a Calvin Klien blouse in size M, it has silver zip detailing on the back. Zara distressed Jeans, I've rolled up the bottom just above my ankle. That's how it was on the racks, so I've just left it like that. I would probably roll it down if I wear wearing it with heels. But with flats I like it rolled up. My shoes are Joanne Mercer in patent black. I'm getting a lot of wear out of these shoes this summer. I bought these on boxing day and I prefer to wear them than slippers/ thongs, they're just really comfy. My necklace is from a small jewellery store near my place, I can't remember the name of the store, I'll make note of it in my next blog (oh and I'm digging the bright neon jewellery this summer.) On my left hand  I'm wearing a two-toned Hope braclet, if  you follow me on Instagram ( yusra1105) I've posted a picture of it.

Missy Moo wore a floral Pumpkin Patch dress in size 0-3 months. I like the double layers in the skirt, and the combination of the blue and orange, (my two favourite colours at the moment, whether it  be for myself or for munchkin)
It was a tad bit windy when we left home so I  had her in the white Marquise stockings, with the ruffle bottom, which I find so cute. The ruffles are in the eyelet lace material, which I love on little girls. There's just something about that material that makes it cute. She was wearing her white OshKosh shoes in size 1. I'm so happy that she's finally fitting into her shoes now. These shoes are slightly big to be worn alone, but when wearing it with thick stockings they fit perfectly. And lastly the orange headband is from Laynie Bug Designs.

Here is the party bag from Alana's birthday, isn't it cute? Guess who ate all the wonderful sweets.

Family Fridays

Friday night was spent with my beautiful family. We went to my sisters for dinner. Hubby came straight from work.
The weather was still humid that night. Here is little Miss's outfit.

This dress was a present from Sri Lanka, mum was there in December, and bought it back with her.
These Tippy toes socks were also a gift, and I adore the Mary jane design, it really dresses up an outfit. This pair came in a box of 6, so I teamed the green with this dress. The headband is from Little Miss Jewelz (my friends business), it's the vintage ribbon bow with the green band. I'll have the facebook link to her store below.

We had a busy few days over the weekend, my aim is to upload posts the next day, but it made it impossible with everything that was on. My munchkin did demand more attention than usual. Busy days always leaves me with a fussy BUT happy baby =)

Rayah's 4 Month Update

This little bundle of joy is so full of energy right now. She hardly sits still when she's on my lap. But the highlight for me so far is definitely the fact that she knows who we are. She smiles at us constantly, whether we are in her face or across the room. It's the sweetest thing ever.

We had our 4 month health nurse appointment last week, so I've got all the stats on how she's progressing.

Weight: 6.08 kg ( is just between the 25th and 50th percentile for the average child at her age.)

Height: 60.5 cm ( she's grown a whole 10 cm since birth wow )

Eating: So we started solids this month. She's loving her food. Her first taste was stewed apple which she made a funny face at, but enjoyed it after her second spoon. She only had 4 spoons, didn't want to overdo it on her first go. And since last week she's had stewed pears and apple, Farex rice cereal in banana and pear flavour, and pumpkin, potato and apple combined.  She's only having 1 meal per day at the moment. But I might increase it to two in the coming weeks. She still having 5-6 milk feeds a day. Mostly breast milk but I do give her formula once a day at night.

Sizes: Rayah still fits into most of her 0-3 months clothes. But at the same time there are a few 3-6 month outfit that she's worn. It really depends on the brand of clothing, because they all vary slightly in size. I've noticed that pumpkin patch, Jack and Milly sizing is a lot bigger , where as Target, Zara baby,  OshKosh, Oragami and the rest are slightly smaller.

Milestones:

- Rolling: Rayah first rolled over towards the end of 3 months. This was from her back to tummy. She now rolls back and fourth tummy to back and back to tummy.
-Talking/ Babbling: She is constantly babbling now, trying to make conversation in her language, it's so cute. I've noticed that she babbles quiet a lot when pooping haha
-Holding onto objects: She's always putting things into her mouth now, whether it be her clothes, hands, toys, sheets. Anything she can grasp and anything that is light.
Steady head:  Rayah's head is a lot steadier now, when holding her, she balances her head/ neck quiet well.
Smiling/ Laughing:  This little possum is always smiling at me. ( I emphasise 'ME' as she's now recognising faces, and has cried when others have picked her up). She laughs hysterically when I tickle her and make funny noises. It's so fun to watch.

Favourite toys:

BrightStart blocks (they are soft and cushiony, and have bells in them)

Fisher Price Snuggle Cub soother mobile. ( She loves watching it spin, and the music is plays is really soothing)
Fisher Price Baby's 1st doll. She loves this doll, when ever I hold it up she spreads her arms out.

Saturday Fundays

We attended a wedding in the Northern Suburbs on the weekend. It was a beautiful function with amazing food and the couple looked stunning. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to take any photos, and wouldn't know the likeliness of publishing others photos without their consent.

Rayah was great all night, didn't fuss at all.

Here is her outfit of the night:

She wore a salmon pink dress from Target (this was a gift), in size 0-3 months ( she still fits into her 0-3 months clothes)

The cardigan is also from Target in 0-3 months. Silver shoes from Cotton on Kids  and lastly salmon pink headband with rhinestones was a present.

Taking pictures of Rayah is getting difficult by the day, she doesn't sit still. She tries to sit forward, which she is too young to, she doesn't have control of her back yet.

Because this is my FIRST blog (yay finally) I'm going to keep it short and sweet.
Till next time xox
