Mid week OOTD

Here's is a quick OOTD post. I thought possum looked cute in this outfit, and she was full of smiles on this day, so it was the perfect opportunity to take some pictures of her. She tries to stand and hold herself up on everything now. In these pictures below she was trying to stand and get her self up on top of the ottoman. We ( hubby and I) find her energy just astounding, she's full of jelly beans.

In this she's wearing her Zara knit in size 3-6 months. Zara navy top on size 6-9 months and Target jeggings in 3-6 months.

Osh Kosh shoes are in size 1 and headband in snow from OOGU Kids.

 Love this girl to bits.

Rayah's Nursery Tour

Hi all, I thought I'd do a nursery post. I have a few of these pictures on my facebook for the ones who I know personally, and for the others here they are.

We knew our little munchkin was a girl at the half way mark of my pregnancy. I still remember the sonographer asking me if I wanted to know the sex of our baby, and I was like 'heck yeah'. We sort of had a clue before the scan because I would always probe our obstitician whether he could tell through his  scans and he did once say 'I'd put money on it being a girl'. I was convinced our little baba was a girl from that day, and couldn't wait to go shopping for her. The excitement and joy in finding out the sex of our baby was beyond what words could describe.

I started shopping around for her furniture around the 6 month mark, most overwhelming shopping experience ever. I kind of had a clue of the type of crib I wanted, but the most difficult part was chosing a set that came with the baby wardrobe. Most nursery sets don't, they either have the book shelf or chest of draws. I really wanted a little cupboard for her, the tiny shelves and hanger holders were just too cute. We finally ( after several days of window shopping) opted for a Boori Urbane Set. I'll let you know below what we ordered, because we did chop and change to what we liked and wanted.

The crib is the Boori Urbane Metro 3 in 1 cot in English oak, it can be used as a toddlers bed when possum grows out of it.

We got the matching wardrobe, Boori Urbane Metro Robe also in English oak.

And to match with the above we chose the Boori Urbane Change table in English oak (not the Metro changer)

The Jadore Paris Wall Art was from Adairs Kids, I though it was a perfect size and the right pink for her room. We knew we wanted it to be a pale pink, nothing too bright. All soft toys are presents from Grandma, aunties and friends.

I thought these Pooh Classic cushion were too adorable to pass. Picked these up from Adairs Kids, they have a good selection of baby accessories. The 'dreaming the night away' bed lined set was a present from my mum which came with the bed sheet, quilt, pillow, two sausage pillows, cot bumpers and nappy holder.

The wall feature was something I wanted from the very beginning, whether it be wall paper or to paint a feature wall. I saw something similar to this on pinterest and showed hubby, who said he could do these diamond checks and make it a great ascent to her room. So this is actually paint, he simply taped the white bits and painted over it. It did take close to half a day, and I was extremely happy with the outcome.  He also purchases these floating walls from Bunnings. The birdcage mirror was a present, which I believe can be purchased from Target.

We bought the pale pink and grey floor rig from Masters. This was a tough purchase it was difficult finding the right colour and the correct size for her room, I did want quiet a large rug, to cover most of her room. We just happened to come across this one at Masters when shopping for her light shade, which was from there as well. The Pooh laundry basket was from Toys R Us.

And lastly, this cute sign was a present from a close friend.

Hope you enjoyed this post.

April Beauty and Fashion Favourites

I thought I would get in early with the favourites this month, unlike the previous. The month of April was the turning point for us Melbournians  from the hot summer to the chills of winter, so here are a few of my favourites that got me through. Also, let me know if you like the website links, I've added this to show you where I've bought these items, and where you can buy them too =)

Sussan Paisley Print iPhone Cover

I recently upgraded my phone ( and trust me I was majorly in need of one) to the iPhone 5S, and had been keeping and open eye for some nice phone covers. I didn't want the typical leather (sorry for any leather phone cover users out there) or none of that rubbery stuff. Surprisingly, Sussan had a nice collection of phone covers, they actually had quiet a few and I couldn't decide between the prints, and the faux animal fur. I did end up going with the above, for something far less dramatic and bright, but with a nice pattern to it.  I've linked their website below, if anyone is in need of a new cover.

Sportsgirl Manic Monday Snood

I have been sporting this snood as they call it, on a daily (maybe not daily but often enough) basis. Definitely top of the list for April favourites. It can be worn layered or just has  a long scarf. I like the mix of colours, and it happens to match with everything, and most of all it keeps me Oh so warm.

Christian Dior's Miss Dior  Eau De Parfum

Love this Parfum. It's a timeless scent, floral and so yummy. Not something to wear on a daily basis, but great for night wear. It's a scent that you don't come across all that often, unique and has a real sophistication about it. This one is a real winner for me, and I have been wearing it a lot lately, hence the dint in the bottle.

L'oreal gentle eyes and lips makeup remover

Great makeup remover for the stubborn waterproof mascaras and gel eyeliners. The good thing about this product is that you only need a little on a cotton ball and it wipes the makeup right off.

Sally Hansen triple shine nail colour in Dive in 280

This is a gorgeous mild greenish-turquoise. I like this for the winter, it brightens up any dull day. It's a colour that looks good on hands and feet, and especially like it to match with a few necklaces I have in this colour. The Sally Hansen  triple shine range does some beautiful bold colours, and the finish on your nail is quiet good for inexpensive product. Thumbs up for the range, packaging looks cute as well.

Mothers Day Gift Ideas

With only a few days left to buy our mothers that special something, I thought a quick gift ideas post would be helpful.

Each year it gets difficult to buy my mum something. In our family getting in first with the present is the easiest, or I'll get a txt from my sisters saying " don't get mama ...., I just got her one" haha. So I went shopping with my younger sister a few days back and we shopped for ages trying to find our mama items she likes. So here is a list of some mothers day presents, suitable for any age group.

Night slippers. Every women loves a snug pair of night slippers.

Estee Lauder skincare pack.

Pamper package. Voucher for a facial and or massage.

Flowers. You can't go wrong with a beautiful bunch on flowers.

Teacups and saucers set.

A dressy cardigan. From my perspective you can never have too many of these. Whether it be to throw on over a nice dress or for an afternoon lunch with the girls.

Cashmere scarf.  With the colder months approaching us, this would be an ideal accessory for keeping warm.

Till next time.

Mummy must haves 3-6 months

And here we are again with mummy must haves, 3-6 months this time. Still quiet a few on the list, I think the list will shorten as she grows, but at this small age these are the items that made a different in our lives.

Vtech Safe & Sound Video and Audio Monitor.
This is one of my favourite items. We don't use it as much now, but I know it will be a number one item when we put Rayah in her own room. I still use it for when I go into the shower or do things around the house. It's great because it alerts me when possum makes the slightest of noises and I can see what she's doing on the screen, it comes with temperature control, which beeps when the temperature in the room gets too high.

Bumbo.
The bumbo is amazing, it helps infants learn how to sit up, and prepares for stronger backs. I use this when I feed little miss, and also just sparingly throughout the day when I do house chores. I got mine from a dear friend, and I remember I couldn't wait to use it on her. For the ones with little bubbas, the packaging on it says you can use it from when your baby has a steady neck, (and that's exactly what I did).

Silvercross Wayfarer Pram.
What would I do without this. I use it all the time. A good pram is really a must have. It should be easy to unfold and be comfortable when pushing it, along with many other facets, (refer to my stroller review blog for more information). As a first time mum, I highly recommend investing in a good pram.

Phillips Avent bottles.
We use a few types of bottles for munchkin, Nuk, Mothercare and Avent. Avent by far is a favourite, it's good quality, easy to clean and the additional adapter ring helps air flow into the bottle instead of her tummy. Their teats come in different sizes which move up in flow, according to your baby's growth, and munchkin has been holding these bottles her self now as well.

Kate & Hill Bottle warmer.
Mum bought this for me, and I use it all the time. It holds temperature for up to 4 hours. Great for when going out, without having to find a mircowave to heat boiled water.

Nuk feeding spoon.
I didn't realise how important a good spoon was till Miss started to play up during meal times. A good spoon is the difference between getting a good portion of food into her mouth  and keeping it in there haha. These spoons have a long handle which is great for mums, saves us from leaning forward when feeding.

Sophie the Giraffe.
Great for teething babies, and always seems to cheer missy up when she's about to fuss. The toy is soft on gums and is the perfect size for their small hands.

Playmat.
The majority of our house is tiled, so it was a must for us to have these soft mats in place. These are inexpensive and I got mine from the $2 shop. I keep all her toys in here, and munchkin knows this is her play area. It's also nice and soft on her head, and at times she will fall asleep on it.

Face & hand towels.
Small towels have been a must have for me, for a while now. I use them for quick clean ups, to wash her face and hands after meals, chuck one in her bag for clean ups on the go and nappy changes when I know things are going get a bit messy, I pop a bum towel underneath her change mat, (saves me from washing either the change mat or change mat cover daily after each change, (and to my surprise I think 3-6 month is when they do the messiest of poos haha). I keep a few towels on hand, ones for different uses.

Sleeping bags.
I find sleeping bags to be the best and safest way to have Missy warm snug without a blanket. I have read enough books and been told countless times by health nurses and the like, about SIDS, and it has freaked me out. We transitioned from swaddles to sleeping bags, and it has worked well for us thus far. I prefer the ones with sleeves for winter.

And that's my top 10 mummy must haves for 3-6 months.

Rayah's 6 month update

My My! Our little bunny is 6 months, close to 7 now. The past month was packed with many changes, and they all happened about the same time. She is just growing up so fast. I saw this image on social media and thought, it will get to a stage when she wont need me as much, and that just made me so emotional . Little miss is very attached to me right no, she's always following me around the house, and when we're out she the happiest on my lap. I don't mind this at all, I love her sweet little cuddles.

Weight: 7.5kg
Height: 68-69cm
Eating: So possum is still on 2 meals a day, but a lot more in quantity. And some days she will have 3 but smaller amounts. Her milks feeds are averaging 4 a day, formula for most of the time, and breast milk at night.
Sizes: Missy is wearing 3-6 months along with a few 6-12 months, once again depending on the label. I've noticed that some 3-6 month pants are a tad to short on her, and 6-12 months tops are too big, so we're just finding a balance between the two at the moment. Up until now the sizing was moving up every 3 months. I wonder how long the 6-12 months will last? I've only never seen American brands with 9 months sizing on them, (Carters, Next etc, correct me if I'm wrong).

Milestones:
Siting up: little miss started sitting up without leaning over about the same time as when she started to crawl. She has a pretty good balance, and will sit up comfortably without toppling over.
Crawling at a fast pace: So this little baby of mine is officially a crawler and has been for the past week or 2 now. She is getting faster by the day, which in turn means I have to keep an eye on her ALL the time. I love the way she get herself from one place to another.
Holding onto things are standing: Now that she's crawling, she's moved onto her next big mission which is holding onto things and standing. She has done this with her bumbo, and tried on the ends of the couch, Oh and also her cot, which doesn't go down too well. We need to lower her cot. Missy is also standing for longer periods of time, her tiny little legs are getting strong by the day.
So these were the main ones for this month, but the smaller changes are talking up a storm (which she has been doing for awhile now), giving me kisses, she comes with her mouth wide up to kiss me, (it's soo cute) and wanting to put food in her mouth by herself.

Favourite toys:
Fisher and Price Laugh & Learn Love to play Sis. I took this toy out of her cardboard a few days ago, I've been opening new toys according to the age suitability. I find this is the best way for her to enjoy them without being overwhelmed with a whole lot at once. Munchkin received heaps of toys as presents when she was born ( along with clothes and a whole heap of other goodies) and for her name day (Aqiqah).

Fisher and Price Poppity Pop Musical Dino: She loves chasing these coloured balls when they roll across the floor. It keeps her amused for a long time.

Bright starts Safari Sounds Musical Learning Table: Possum has been playing with this for awhile and she loves the sounds and music it plays. We have been using it without the legs, I might attach the legs on soon, now that she's trying to stand up.

She still likes her links and Sophie the giraffe.

Oh and lastly, I can safely say her favourite nursery rhyme is Old Macdonald. SHE LOVES IT! It cheers her up every time, especially  when I make the animal noises haha.

That's it for this blog. Till next time

March Beauty and Fashion Favourites

Here are my favourites for the month of March

Chanel Rouge Allure in Palpitante 102
I absolutely adore this lipstick. The image doesn't capture the true colour of it, but it's a raspberry red, which can easily be worn with different outfits, day night, glam or not. I might do a review on it, to show you how the colour looks on. It slides on smooth, and leaves your lips soft and plump. For the ones that know me well, would know that I'm a big red lippy fan, and it's not all that easy to find the right red for my skin tone, so I was pretty happy with this one.

MAC Mineralise Skin finish natural in 'Give me sun'.
If I were to chose one item from my makeup look, I would jump at this any day. It's by far my favourite  bronzer, and I like that it works well with my skin tone, and I would say for any skin tone really. The lady at the Mac counter was wearing this, and she sold it to me just by having it on her face Haha. You can always work it up or down, I usually pat down a little for the day and layer it for night.

NARS Larger than life, long wear eyeliner.
I like the smoothness of this, it glides on so easily. I don't wear a lot of black liner, so it has the perfect tip to create a thin line.

Sephora Moon shadow baked palette
I have never been much of an eyeshadow person, but since buying this palette (which I have had for awhile mind you) I have been converted. It has the right  mixutre of shades to create the eye looks that I like, dramatic or not. I love the dark brown on the bottom left, it's my 'go to' outer crease shade, along with the lighter browns and bronze for all over eyelid shades.

Rose gold diamond earrings
I'm a sucker for small earrings, and I'm really liking rose gold at the moment.  This pair is set with diamonds, ( Earrings are from mummy dearest and pendant from my little sister, both were a birthday gift).

I do enjoy doing these monthly beauty blogs.

Saturday Fundays- Zayahn's 1st Birthday

I love going to kiddy parties. There's a sentence I never thought I'd be saying haha. Now that little R is getting older, she seems to understand whats going on around her, aware of her social surroundings and her interests are somewhat shining through. It's so hard to believe that a little over 6 months ago she was still inside me. Ahh!

The birthday we went to was a Peter Rabbit theme, which was very cute. Perfect for a little boys 1st birthday, the party started at 1pm so I did feed Miss her lunch before we left. She was okay for most of the time, and did get exhausted a few hours into it, and slept in her pram.

This was her OOTD.

This dress was a present and is from Mothercare in size 00. Munchkin doesn't have much clothes in red, and I  adore this. It's cotton and has a small layer of navy tulle underneath, which is simply devine. She did wear a long sleeved spencer underneath.

I couldn't wait till possum fit into these shoes, and she finally does, from Zara in european size 18. She also wore navy stockings and a Laynie bug design bow. I wish I had taken some pictures of her in this outfit, we were in such a hurry and didn't have time.

The party favours were oh so cute. Here are the lolly bags and the party favours which were given out. The Beatrix Potter book was given to Miss and the little notepad were for the older guests.

That's it for now.

Sunday Fundays -Dinner at Byblos

How are we. I feel like time is getting the better of me these days. I don't know how it could possibly be mid April already? How the year is flying by!

Meanwhile, I have been keeping myself and munchkin busy, we have daily activities in place to keep her occupied, other than just playing on the floor with her toys. I find it a great way to bond and teach her all sorts of new things. I'll discuss it in more detail in her monthly update.

We joined a few of our friends for dinner at Byblos on Sunday night, a restaurant beautifully  located off the banks of the Yarra river.  Possum was good for most of the night other than going back to her stranger danger days, and making a fuss when people hold her. I hope it's something that passes soon, as she's starting to get quiet clingy with mummy and daddy. But she did stay in a high chair for most of the night, eating her dessert and rusks ( she had dinner before we left home), which was nice.

Here is her outfit of the day.

This cotton dress is from David Jones, a label called 'Baby by Yianna' in size 00. I do love white on babies, it's so pure and clean. And to me, the hint of navy just made it a perfect dress. I'm not sure if you can see it in the photo but it has some gorgeous stitch detailing on the chest. This dress is one of my faves.

With that she wore a knitted wool cardigan from Osh Kosk in size 00, navy stockings and Tic Tac Toe shoes in size 1.

We were in a hurry to leave home and didn't get a chance to snap up a pic (like I usually do on the couch), but got this one at the restaurant. As you can see she was devouring her rusk, she's my messy teething bubba at the moment.

Just as I was about to upload this post, munchkin did her first fast crawl. She's officially a crawling baby Oh my! So emotional right now, she's just always surprising us and growing up faster than we expected.

Till the next post.
